The 5 Biggest Questions Fans Still Have For ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

Avengers: Infinity War is right around the corner, and fan anticipation is through the roof! After six years of build-up, the Avengers will finally face their biggest threat yet, the “Mad Titan” Thanos, in what is sure to be the most exciting Marvel movie to date. With the film releasing on April 27, 2018, just a few weeks away, there are many questions fans have concerning what will happen in this movie.

*Spoilers for some of the Marvel movies follow; you’ve been warned.*

5. The Fate of the Asgardians.

Thor: Ragnarok ended with Thor, Loki, and Heimdall along with the citizens of Asgard traveling on a spaceship heading for Earth.  If for some reason you did not stay for the post-credit scene, there was a massive spaceship that appeared right in front of Thor. The speculation is that the ship belongs to Thanos and is intercepting Thor’s spaceship to get an Infinity Stone, where if you watched the Avengers trailer you would know that Loki has possession of it. In the trailer, Loki is seen holding the Tesseract (aka the Space Stone) and is handing it over to Thanos. This scene takes place in what looks to be the ruins of a spaceship, which is possibly and probably the ship the Asgardians civilians were on. It seems destroyed with Loki and Thor seemingly defeated and the civilians, nowhere to be found. Thor apparently did not make it to Earth with his fellow Asgardians. So where are they? One can only assume the worst in that Thanos may have killed all them off, or at least taken them, prisoner. Another possibility is that the citizens were transported away to another planet. The Tesseract, aka Space Stone, can teleport anyone or anything across the universe so hopefully, for Asgard’s sake that is what happened.

4. Where Is The Last Infinity Stone?

If you have watched any of the Marvel movies, you will know that the Infinity Stones are the most powerful artifacts in the Universe. Avengers: Infinity War will focus on these stones as we follow Thanos hunting them down and assembling them into his gauntlet where, if he succeeds he will be able to gain god-like powers and become the strongest person in the universe. So far we have seen all of the Infinity Stones except for one, the Soul Stone. All the other Stones are around the universe and not in the hands of Thanos at the moment. The Infinity Stones are:

Space Stone: With Loki on Thor’s ship
Mind Stone: In Vison’s head
Power Stone: On the Nova Corps home planet of Xandar
Time Stone: With Doctor Strange
Reality Stone: With the Collector
Soul Stone: Many fans believe it is on Black Panther’s home country of Wakanda, but that is not confirmed yet. It may be somewhere else, but there have not been any hints to it so far.

3. Will New Heroes be Introduced?

The Avengers roster has been expanding throughout the years with the additions of Scarlet Witch, The Vision, Black Panther and Falcon; one can only hope that Avengers: Infinity War may introduce more new and exciting characters.

With Captin Marvel currently being filmed, there is a chance that we see this new hero thrown into the mix. With her hard-hitting and energy based powers she could be a great asset to the team. The real question is how they would be able to introduce her to the Marvel Universe.

For those who do not know the film will take place in the mid-1990’s and is an origin story and will follow Carol Danvers aka Captin Marvel, on her adventures in space. Avengers: Infinity War may end with Captain Marvel coming into the superhero landscape. If they introduce her, they will possibly explain who she is, what her powers are, and backstory briefly. This would be a great way to present her to fans who do not know her character, much like the way they did with Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War.

For anyone who has read the Infinity War comics in which this movie is based on, you will know about the character of Adam Warlock. A character who plays a significant role in the comics, Adam Warlock, a very religious type figure was hinted at in the post-credit scene for Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2 where he was in his famous cocoon. What can this mean for the future of the character? We will only have to wait and see.

2. Who Will Die?

A huge question that almost every Marvel fan wants to know is, who is going to die. With a name of Infinity War, there have to be some casualties to make the stakes higher than they have ever been before and the best way to do that is to have one of the main characters die. Which one will it be?

The two most popular answers are either Iron Man or Captain America. While it hurts to say this, either of these original Avengers dying will make a massive impact that will shake the Marvel Universe and its fans to the core. With Robert Downey Jr’s and Chris Evans’ contracts ending and no news on them resigning, it can only be assumed that someone might not make it out of the movie alive. We see both of these heroes going face to face with Thanos in the trailer so we may have already seen a preview of what is to come.

There is also an image of Spiderman beaten with Tony Stark kneeing over him crying, which would be a heart-wrenching moment for sure and his death would be surprising since his character is so new. However, with the news that the Spiderman: Homecoming sequel is set to begin filming soon, his death seems highly unlikely. That is of course unless he’s somehow brought back to life.

The Vision is another character who may not make it through the film because of the Infinity Stone inside his head. Thanos primary goal at this moment is to collect all of the Infinity Stones, and one can only assume that by the end of the movie he will get them all. What does this mean for Vision? In the first trailer, we see Vision screaming in pain as he is having the Infinity Stone pulled out. When they finally do take it out, will Vision be able to live without it? The most probable answer is no.

1. Post Credit Scene

One of the most exciting parts of any Marvel movie is the post-credits scene. They usually give a hint to what will happen in the next film or a future event. In the first Avengers movie, we see Thanos for the first time, hinting that he will play a massive part in the future. In Avengers: Age of Ultron the post-credits scene showed Thanos taking the Infinity Gauntlet and saying “Fine, I’ll do it myself,” Which he is shown doing in the movie. What could the post-credit be for the most important Marvel movie to date? A possibility could be the opening of Adam Warlock’s cocoon, which will hint that he is coming much like his comic book counterpart. It could be a similar reason like I said before, but instead of being presented in this movie, he will be fully introduced in the next one.

Another option that many long-time Marvel fans are hoping for is a hint to the Fantastic Four. This could be the most significant and most satisfying post-credit scenes because it confirms that Fantastic Four is coming into the Marvel Cinematic Universe which fans desperately want. Disney is still in the process and in talks in buying 21st Century Fox, who own the rights to the Fantastic Four so this could be the possibility. The character of the Silver Surfer also plays a massive part in the comics against Thanos so he can also be a huge post-credit scene and one what will also confirm the Fantastic Four because he too owned by 21st Century Fox as well.
