Cardi B is famously from the Bronx, where she first began in a career as an exotic dancer before receiving public attention as she built a large social media. Thanks to her internet fame, Cardi B joined the cast of the VH1 reality TV series Love & Hip Hop: New York.
In 2017, following Love & Hip Hop: New York. Cardi B, born Belcalis Almanzar, signed her first major label record deal with Atlantic Records. Her debut single for Atlantic, titled “Bodak Yellow”, reached number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, with the New York Times calling it “the rap anthem of the summer” in 2017.
In December of 2017, the second single from her debut album, “Bartier Cardi”, was released, followed by her feature on Bruno Mars’ remix version of “Finesse” in early 2018. Cardi B’s first studio album, Invasion of Privacy, will be released on Friday, April 6.
