Beginning his entertainment career in 1986 Carey has been able to keep himself in the public eye through the decades while also bringing some laughs with him along the way. But how exactly has this The Price is Right host precisely worth?

In years in entertainment, Drew Carey has acquired himself a good amount of wealth equating to about $165 Millon. Through his some different jobs in the entertainment business, Drew Carey was able to make himself a staple in the industry and able to raise his stock up quite a bit. From writing jokes for radio personalities to having his television show and hosting game shows Drew Carey has shown he can bring his comedic chops and likable personality wherever he goes.

1958- 1986

Drew Carey was born on May 23, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio where he was the youngest of three brothers. During his younger years Drew was more of a loaner where he would watch comedians, cartoons, and most importantly, read about comedy and humor. Carey later attended Rhodes High School where he would graduate and eventually enroll at Kent State University where he would be kicked out twice. Carey dropped out of college where he intended on pursuing a career a stand-up comedy. After a relatively short stint on the road doing performing stand-up comedy, Carey would return home. In 1980 Carey would eventually sign himself up to join the Marine Corps Reserve where he went on to serve for six years. His time in the Marine Corps helped him gain self-confidence and was able to help him toughen up his mental state.


1986-2004

In 1986 David Lawrence, a radio disk jockey and childhood friend asked Carey to help him write jokes for his show and eventually push him into doing stand-up comedy once again. The writing of jokes helped Carey sharpen his comedic skills which lead him to gain nationwide exposure. Carey would eventually appear on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson where after his set he was offered to sit on the couch next to Carson who was a huge moment for any entertainers career. Following his television appearance, Carey continued to write and star in his stand-up specials where he continued to grow his already massive fan base.

Like many comedians, Carey would eventually get some acting roles, where he impressed ABC television producers to where they would offer him his own show called The Drew Carey Show in which he starred in and was a rating success. Over time like any show rating eventually declined and the show was canceled in 2004. During his time on The Drew Carey Show, he would also get his first hosting job on the improv show Whose Line Is It Anyway? where Drew and his cast of improv comedians would travel around the country performing.

2004-2018

Drew Carey continued to host Whose Line Is It Anyway where it ran until 2007. Following its cancellation, Carey was eventually chosen to be the host of The Price Is Right following the departure long-standing host Bob Barker. Carey still hosts The Price Is Right to this day and is on his 11th year on the show.
