The University of Nevada, Reno, previously known as State University of Nevada and Nevada State University, is a public university. The university, which is home to more than 21,000 graduate and undergraduate students, was founded in1874 by the Nevada State Constitution. The school’s motto is “Omnia Pro Patria,” which translates to “All For Our Country.”

The current school president is Marc Johnson, who leads an academic staff of more than 1,500.

Nevada Wolfpack Cheerleaders

The Nevada cheerleading program is split into four divisions — stunt, cheer, pom and mascot.

“The top priority of the Nevada Spirit Program is to support the athletic teams and the University. We are ambassadors to the community, the fans and the students,” the school website states.

The Nevada Spirit Program is made up of all-around talented student athletes. Teams have an emphasis in different skills, but overall Nevada Cheer is focused on kind, talented, outgoing young men and women who are looking to support their University, perform at games and events, work with younger cheerleaders as role models, and most importantly, achieve in the classroom and get a college degree.”

Under the direction of third-year head coach Eric Musselman, the Nevada Wolf Pack continue to improve, capping off their second straight Mountain West regular-season championship and earning a spot in the 2018 NCAA Tournament as a No. 7 seed in the South Regional.

The Wolf Pack compiled a regular season record of 29-7 and finished ranked in the AP Top 25.

Nevada earned a place in the Sweet 16 of the Big Dance after wins over No. 10 seed Texas and No. 2 seed Cincinnati in the First Round and Round of 32, respectively.
