Gonzaga University is a private, Roman Catholic university located in Spokane, Washington as a member of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. The university, which is home to more than 7,000 graduate and undergraduate students, was founded in in 1887 by the Society of Jesus and Italian priest Joseph Cataldo. The school’s motto is “Ad majorem Dei gloriam,” which translates to “For the Greater Glory of God.”
The current school president is Thayne McCulloh, who leads an academic staff of 418 full-time employees.

The Gonzaga cheerleading program does not compete nor offer scholarships. Instead, current students can try out for the team where they will focus on crowd involvement during all men’s and women’s basketball games, including the postseason.

Please note: Gonzaga Cheerleading does not compete, nor does the program offer scholarships. Its primary focus is crowd involvement and with a heavy emphasis on partner stunting. Compared to other collegiate programs, time commitment is minimal. Thus, cheer team members are afforded more time to participate in other campus activities and maintain academic priorities.
The Bulldogs are led by head coach Michelle Wilson.

The Gonzaga men’s basketball program continued its dominance in the West Coast Conference this season, claiming the regular season and tournament championships en route to a 32-4 record and top 10 finish under 19-year head coach Mark Few.
The Bulldogs earned a No. 4 seed in the West Regional after automatically qualifying thanks to their conference championship wins.
In the First Round of the NCAA Tournament, the Bulldogs narrowly escaped an upset loss to No. 13 seed UNC Greensboro. They followed that up with another close outing in the Round of 32 against No. 5 seed Ohio State, before securing their spot in the Sweet 16 where they face No. 9 seed Florida State.
