Nevada Basketball Coach Eric Musselman Is Winning On & Off The Court

Of all the many March Madness storylines from the deliriously entertaining first weekend of the 2018 NCAA Tournament, one of the most exciting is the story of Eric Musselman & the Nevada Wolfpack.

Nevada, a seven-seed, have had a hell of a run getting to the Sweet 16: they came back from 14 points down against Texas, leading to the epic, F-bomb laden post-game speech from Musselman:

Then, two nights later, Musselman’s Nevada men clawed back from a 22-point deficit to defeat the #2 seed Cincinnati Bearcats to march on to the Sweet 16.

But not only is Musselman winning on the court, he’s apparently crushing it off the court as well, as his wife Danyelle Sargent is a National Champion in her own right.

Sargent, who has a successful career as a sports television reporter, graduated from Florida State University before beginning her television career at WGXA, in Macon, Georgia. Following her time at WGXA, Sargent was hired in 2004 by ESPN, contributed to ESPN2’s Cold Pizza,  (which is now First Take). Sargent left ESPN when her contract expired in the Fall of 2006. In 2005 and 2006, she served as co-emcee of the NCAA Woman of the Year Awards. In 2010, Sargent and Musselman gave birth to a daughter, Mariah.

So, given that my (and likely your) entire bracket is busted, I’m going to be a Nevada Wolfpack fan from here on out.
