WWE Fastlane is coming up fast! The superstars of ‘SmackDown Live’ have arrived at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Tonight is the very last pay-per-view on the road to WrestleMania 34. Expect a night of fast-paced action, feauting “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles putting his WWE Championship on the line in a much-anticipated six-pack challenge. Can Styles overcome the odds and topple five of SmackDown‘s top superstars, in a match which includes “The Doctor of Thuganomics” John Cena?

We might see history tonight. If Cena wins the six-pack challenge then he’ll become a 17-time world champion, surpassing the record set by 16-time world champion “Nature Boy” Ric Flair.

But maybe tonight’s not the night for either Styles or Cena. Maybe it’s time for “The Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin to rise to the occasion and grab hold of WWE gold. Or maybe tonight will be the night of “The Yep Movement,” with either Kevin Owens or Sami Zayn capturing the WWE Championship on route to WrestleMania. Or could it be The Showoff’s time to shine, meaning “The Ziggly One” Dolph Ziggler is WrestleMania-bound with the WWE Championship in hand.

WWE Fastlane 2018 Kickoff Show

Kickoff Show: Mojo Rawley, Shelton Benjamin, and Chad Gable vs. Tye Dillinger, and Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango)

Gable and Breeze start off. Gable immediately drops Breeze who tags in Fandango who’s looking to mock his opponent. Fandango puts on Gable’s amateur wrestling head-gear, circles around the ring, and then tags in Breeze. Gable allows Breeze to mount him, which doesn’t turn out favorably for the former Olympian. Breeze rides him like a horse, which freaks out Gable. A distracted Gable eats a drop kick. All hell starts breaking loose between teams, and Dillinger and Fandango clear the ring.

Gable gains the upperhand before the break and drops Breeze once again. Shelton Benjamin is in solid control of Tyler Breeze as we return from the break. Breeze tries fighting out, but gets dropped by Benjamin. Gable gets the tag, and they double-team the dazed Breeze.

Mojo Rawley continues the assaults against a hurt Tyler Breeze. But Tye Dillinger breaths a breathe of fresh-air into the match, and scores the win for his team.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Rusev

Today was definitely not Rusev Day, although he did push Shinsuke Nakamura to the limit. Nakamura controlled the early portion of this match, having the big man reeling at almost every moment. During the mid-way point, Rusev turned the tide and put the punishment on “The Artist” Nakamura. Rusev looked strong, imposing and dominant. He also looked like he was going to put away Nakamura with The Accolade.

Shinsuke Nakamura battles back and tries to take out Rusev with a Kinshasa, but Rusev turns that around into a massive kick. Nakamura looks finished until he musters up a comeback and finally ends what could have been Rusev’s Day with a real Kinshasa strike.

WWE United States Championship match: Bobby Roode (c) vs. Randy Orton

“The Viper” Randy Orton and “The Glorious One” Bobby Roode had an incredibly competitive match. Roode and Orton trade control of the contest. After a long back-and-forth encounter, Roode goes sailing off the top rope and into an RKO outta nowhere.

Post-Match: Randy Orton celebrates in the ring with the U.S. title. “The Modern Day” Maharaja Jinder Mahal comes out and assaults Orton. Bobby Roode makes the save and drops Mahal. He then turns his attention on Orton and puts the beat-down on “The Viper.”
