Parks and Recreation is the television equivalent of comfort food: whenever you’re feeling a little down, downtrodden, or under the weather, you can just throw on some Parks and Rec on the Netflix Machine and your situation will automatically improve, even if it’s just a little bit.
But as we all know, Parks and Recreation went off the air in 2015, meaning it’s been three years since we’ve seen Pawnee’s Parks Department.
Well, thanks to NBC, everyone’s favorite pretend government employees are back, only this time they’re … reality television show hosts for a show called Making It? Um, okay? I mean, that’s cool I guess, as long as it gets Ron Swanson and Leslie Knope back in the same room.
The show’s official description:
Each week eight all-around makers, from all walks of life, will take on a series of projects with the hopes of impressing Poehler, Offerman, and our expert judges. Over the course of each episode, the contestants must tackle a different theme, hand-making items in different disciplines — the difficulty of which increases with every episode until a winner is crowned.
Making It will premiere July 31 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC, although we’re holding out hope that this is all just an elaborate way of announcing a new season of Parks and Rec.
