Prince George’s County Police say that Crossland High School in Temple Hills, Maryland has been placed on lockdown after a threat was posted on social media.
At this time, extra officers are in the area and police are working to find the person who posted the threat.
Prince George’s County Police Department posted to Twitter to say that they were aware of the threat, saying:
“We are aware of the newly-posted social media threat regarding Crossland HS in Temple Hills. We are actively working to find the person who posted the threat. The school will be placed on lockdown & extra officers in the area out of an abundance of caution.”
At this time, authorities have not disclosed the nature of the threat that was made and have not released any other information at this time.
Crossland High School is a public secondary school located in Temple Hills, Maryland, United States. The school serves about 2,000 students in grades 9 to 12 in the Prince George’s County Public Schools system.
