UFC 222: Cyborg vs. Kunitskaya is live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Tonight’s main event features the fearsome UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cris Cyborg putting her title on the line against the debuting Yana Kunitskaya.
Tonight’s show was suppose to be co-headlined by featherweight champions of both the men’s and women’s division. However, UFC Men’s Featherweight Champion leg injury to UFC Featherweight champion Max Holloway had to drop out of tonight’s event because of a leg injury. Holloway was originally suppose to defend his title against Frankie Edgar, but now Edgar will have to fight Brian Ortega with his number one contender spot on the line. The winner will go on to face Holloyway for the UFC Men’s Featherweight Championship at a later date.
UFC 222 will feature numerous other fights, including one involving rising bantamweight superstar “Sugar” Sean O’Malley going up against the double tough Andre Soukhamthath. Meanwhile, in the women’s batamweight division, Ketlen Vieira puts her undefeated streak on the line against Cat Zingano.
