Cris “Cyborg” Justino is a fericious female fighter in the octagon. The 32-year-old MMA combantant is the reigning and defending UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion. She has been involved in mixed martial arts for well over a decade, leaving behind a path of destruction in her wake. Currently, Cyborg owns 19 MMA career wins, only 1 loss and 1 no contest. She has also never lost a single MMA fight on U.S. soil. Tonight, she’ll put her UFC title on the line against Yana Kunitskaya in the latter’s Ultimate Fighting debut.

Cyborg has had a very decorated career, both in and out of mixed martial arts. Besides her expertise in MMA, she is also well-trained in Muay Thai kickboxing and submission grappling sports like wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu. Cyborg is the 2011 and 2012 IBJJF World Jiu-Jitsu Championships and the 2009 ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championships. Her win/loss record in Muay Thai kicking boxing currently stands at 2 wins and 1 loss. During her MMA career, she has won titles such as the Strikeforce Women’s Featherweight Championship and the Invicta FC World Featherweight Championship. And as of this writing, Cyborg is the current UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion.

2005 – 2013

Cyborg made her official MMA debut on May 17, 2005, in her home city of Curitiba, Brazil. During that fight, the future UFC Champion would suffer her first and only loss in the sport of mixed martial arts. She would later go onto rack up 19 wins and only 1 no contest since her MMA debut.

On July 26, 2008, Cyborg had her first professional fight in the United States. During the event “EliteXC: Unfinished Business,” Cyborg defeated Shayna Baszler with a flurry of punches in the second round. As a result of her victory, she was crowned the inagural Strikeforce Women’s Featherweight Championship. She was stripped of this title in 2011 after testing positive for stanozolol.

She won her second MMA title on July 13, 2013, during an event which she headlined, known as “Invicta FC 6: Coenen vs. Cyborg”. In the main event, Cyborg knocked off Marloes Coenen to become the inaugral Invicta FC Featherweight Championship.


2013 – Present

Cyborg continued to kick ass, defeating every opponent put in front of her. She signed with UFC in March 2015, making her debut at UFC 198 in May 2016. In her debut, she defeated Leslie Smith with a flurry of punches in the first round (TKO). Since she started fighting in UFC full time, she was forced to vacate the Invicta FC Featherweight Championship on March 24, 2017.

On July 29, 2017, Cyborg won the vacant UFC Women’s Featherweight Championship after defeating Tonya Evinger at UFC 214. She next defended her title at UFC 219, defeating Holly Holm via unanimous decision.

Cyborg’s next opponent is Yana Kunitskaya. She’s set to defend her UFC Women’s Featherweight Championship at UFC 222.
