Cris Cyborg is a Brazilian mixed martial artist, who is the reigning and defending UFC Women’s Fetherweight Champion. Her MMA record is simply phenomenal, with 19 wins, 1 loss and 1 no contest. She began her career in 2005 and has since solidified herself as one of the UFC’s fiercest female fighters.

Despite Cyborg’s one career MMA loss, she is currently undefeated on U.S. soil, never losing a MMA fight in the United States. Her one and only loss in the sport of mixed martial arts occurred on May 17, 2005, in her home city of Curitiba, Brazil. That was Cyborg’s very first MMA loss, losing to Erica Paes via submission in the first round. However, Cyborg didn’t let the biter taste of defeat bring her down and has won every fight since.

Cyborg’s real name is Cristiane Justino Venâncio. She was born on July 9, 1985, in Curitiba, Brazil. She started off her MMA fighting career in 2005 in Brazil and then imported her career to the United States three years later. Although, Cyborg has been fighting in the U.S. since 2008, she didn’t become a naturalized U.S. citizen until late 2016.

She adopted the nickname “Cyborg” from her ex-husband MMA fighter Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos.

This 32-year-old Brazilian-born fighter ripped right through the competition in the United States. She’s a former Strikeforce Women’s Featherweight Champion and former Invicta FC World Featherweight Champion, as well as the current UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion. On Saturday, March 3, 2018, Cyborg is set to battle Yana Kunitskaya in the latter’s UFC debut. Judging by the Cyborg’s career stats, does Yana really have a chance?
