Police Responding To Reports Of Shots Fired At Central Michigan University Dorm Room

Police are responding to reports of shots fired on the fourth floor of Campbell Hall at Central Michigan University. Two people have been killed. The suspect has been identified as James Eric Davis Jr. The victims are reportedly his parents.

The voicemail alert to students said the shooting happened on Friday morning on the 4th floor of Campbell Hall. Reports say the shooter is still at large.

According to the City of Mt. Pleasant Public Safety, the suspect is reportedly black male who should be considered armed and dangerous.

The campus is currently on lockdown. Police are currently searching for the suspect, who reportedly fled on foot.

“Please avoid Campbell Hall until we hear more information. We received an emergency alert of shots fired in Campbell Hall,” the university posted on Twitter.

CMU officials are not commenting at this time. Central Michigan has about 23,000 students enrolled.
