On February 28th, Cambridge-Isanti, Minnesota schools were shut down due to a potential threat that had been issued. Limited information was made immediately available because of security concerns, but the district made the following statements on their Facebook page.
“All schools are closed today (2/28). We are investigating a rumored, potential threat and are taking precautionary measures to help keep students safe while a full investigation is completed.”
Also, they also clarified further in a later post:
“Dear C-I Families,
We became aware of a rumored, potential threat. We have not had sufficient time to fully investigate this threat per our protocols and we are taking precautionary measures to ensure we help keep students safe. All schools will be closed today, Wednesday, February 28.
We treat all reports of threats seriously and appreciate your understanding as we work to address this matter. We are committed to sharing important information with you.
We value the relationships we have with our families and local community and we continue to rely on these partnerships to help keep our school safe. We thank you for supporting our school community in this effort.
