Jacob Ryan McBain, a 27-year-old Norco, California man, was arrested for allegedly making threats to shoot up a nearby college campus. When police searched McBain’s home, a loaded AR-15, two handguns, and ammunition were recovered from his bedroom.
According to reports, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department received information about threats made on social media against a local college campus. Following an investigation, authorities found that someone, McBain, was posting comments on his Facebook page, saying he intended to kill people at an unnamed college campus.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department determined that the threats were credible, allowing them to obtain a search warrant for McBain’s residence at the 5000 block of Trail Street, Norco.
He was arrested without incident and charged with suspicion of making terrorist threats and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

During the service of the warrant, Jacob Ryan McBain was taken into custody without incident. Deputies recovered a loaded AR-15, two loaded handguns and a large amount of ammunition from McBain’s bedroom, according to a sheriff’s news release.
McBain was arrested on suspicion of making terrorist threats and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was transported to the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside, where he was booked.
Local school district and college officials were notified of the investigation, though there was no school in session due to President’s Day.
The arrest comes one week after the deadly shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. The deadly shooting was carried out by 17-year-old Nikolas Cruz, who killed 17 people during the spree.
