The reason I used a meme for the lead article image you see above you instead of a stock image of a woman in yoga pants is simple: it’s a summary for the entire article.
On Saturday, the “failing” New York Times published an op-ed on Why Yoga Pants Are Bad For Women. Some of the highlights from the overly-woke writer:
“At this moment of cultural crisis, when the injustices and indignities of female life have suddenly become news, an important question hit me: Whatever happened to sweatpants?”
-“When yoga pants are the first thing grown women put on every morning, we can’t help absorbing the message that staying fit is our No. 1 purpose in life.”
-“Frankly, I’m annoyed by the whole booming industry around women’s exercise.”
-“Remember sweatpants? Women used to wear them, not so long ago. You probably still have a pair, in velour or terry cloth, with the name of a college or sports team emblazoned down the leg.”
As it turns out, most women didn’t agree with Honor Jones, the writer of the piece. Some highlights:

Has anyone written about the fact that leggings and yoga pants are important because they don’t *hurt* to wear? Like, congrats if your jeans don’t leave red marks on you by the end of the day, but I’ve never known that life.

In the article, while discussing her day at the gym in sweatpants instead of yoga pants, Jones said that “Men didn’t look at me at all.” Well, no shit — if you were in yoga pants, men wouldn’t look at you either. Men aren’t supposed to look at women at the gym no matter what they’re wearing: yoga pants, sweatpants, jeans, gorilla suit — doesn’t matter, men shouldn’t be looking at women at the gym.
And that’s why we’re the meme above: while women write op-eds in national newspapers about the pants they wear and men’s influence on them, men didn’t even know we were involved in the conversation, as any decent one keeps him eyes to himself while at the gym. And trust me, it takes discipline: beautiful girls wearing tight clothes is definitely distracting, but as they say, mind over matter.
