A lot has changed for superhero movies since the first The Incredibles came out in 2004.

The most recent Batman movie was the one with the nipples on the Batsuit and Spider-Man 2 had just come out. Robert Downey Jr. crushing it as Iron Man was barely even a seed of an idea in the minds of Marvel. Needless to say, a lot has changed since then.

Long thought of us merely popcorn fare for comic books geeks, superhero movies are now the most profitable films in the industry. However, despite how much times have changed in the real world, that doesn’t appear to be the case in the world of the Incredibles, as the sequel appears to be picking up from exactly where the original left off — the Underminer.

Incredibles 2 is an upcoming American 3D computer-animated superhero film and is the long-awaited sequel to the 2004 film The Incredibles. It is in production by Pixar Animation Studios and will be released by Walt Disney Pictures. It is being written and directed by Brad Bird, the writer and director of the first film, and features Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, Samuel L. Jackson and John Ratzenberger all reprising their roles from the first film. The film also features the new voices of Huck Milner, Bob Odenkirk, Catherine Keener, Sophia Bush, Jonathan Banks and Isabella Rossellini.

Incredibles 2 hits theaters on June 15, 2018.
