It’s Super Bowl season, folks! This means that football fans will be treated to an ultimate showdown tomorrow between the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles. In anticipation of the big game, many fans are taking to the internet to release memes trashing the other team. Fans are going all out in their assault against the rival teams/players to a point where memester are making homophobic remarks/images directed at longtime New England Quarterback Tom Brady. They refer to him as some type of sucker, I don’t know, you’ll need to check the gallery to find out. This behavior is definitely not condoned, but it just shows the lengths football fans will go to stick it to the other side (no pun intended).
When it comes to the Super Bowl, the Philadelphia Eagles are the underdogs (or under-birds) when it comes to their opponents. The New England Patriots have participated in a total of nine Super Bowls, winning five times. Meanwhile, the Eagles have only played at the Super Bowl twice, losing each time. And if history repeats itself tomorrow then the Patriots will become six-time Super Bowl Champions, while the Eagles will once again hang their heads in defeat.
Who will come out on top? Will the Patriots claim another championship victory? Or will the Eagles finally soar high at the Super Bowl? And also, will both teams take a knee to protest police brutality, racial discrimination, and show solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement? Stay tuned, folks!
But back to the memes: As you can see, when teams go head-to-head at the Super Bowl so do their die-hard fans. These people would probably be going blow for blow if they weren’t behind a keyboard. And all over football? That’s almost as silly as attacking someone because they didn’t vote like you. It’s better to get along, put aside your differences and smile. Odds are you’re both in the wrong and this is just the aftermath of tribalism gone awry. And you’re probably annoying/freaking others out with your obsessive behavior. Just have fun and watch the game!
But the memes are fire, so enjoy! Whether you’re a Patriots fan or an Eagles fan, it’s all the same. You don’t need to pick sides to laugh your ass off before the big game!
