The father of victims of ex-USA Gymnastic doctor Larry Nassar lunged at Nassar in court after saying to judge, “I would ask you to as part of the sentencing to grant me 5 minutes in a locked room with this demon.”
Randall Margraves, the father of several of Larry Nassar’s victims, tried to attack Nassar in court after calling him a “demon” and a “son of a bitch”. Three of Margraves’ daughters are victims who were abused by Nassar.
According to CNN, Michigan Assistant Attorney General Angela Povilaitis told Margraves, “You cannot behave like this. This is letting him have his power over us.” Margraves responded, “You haven’t lived through it, lady.”
Margraves was then removed from the courtroom.
Last week, Nassar was sentenced to 40-175 years in prison for sexually abusing and raping over 150 women and children.
In total, 156 women –daughters, mothers, sisters, athletes, and Olympians, say they were abused by Nassar.
The first allegations of this trial were reported in September 2016 when two former gymnasts accused Dr. Nassar of sexual misconduct. In February 2017, another three former gymnasts with similar stories, Jeanette Antolin, Jessica Howard and Jamie Dantzscher, gave an interview with 60 Minutes to speak out against Nassar.
Since then, over 150 people, including Aly Raisman, Maggie Nichols, McKayla Maroney, Jordyn Wieber, Gabby Douglas and Simone Biles, were also inspired to share their experience with Larry Nassar’s sexual abuse.
