The 60th Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast live from Madison Square Garden in New York City today, Sunday, January 28, 2018. James Corden is set to reprise his role as the host. This year’s nominations were announced on November 28th, 2017 and the awards will honor the best in music from the past year. This year, performers include Lady Gaga, P!nk, Childish Gambino, Little Big Town, Bruno Mars and Cardi B, SZA, Kesha, Kendrick Lamar, Sam Smith, Elton John, Logic, U2, Broadway’s Patti Lupone & Dear Evan Hansen‘s Ben Platt. DJ Khaled is also set to take the stage with Rihanna and singer Bryan Tiller.
In the hotly competitive “Album of the Year” category are Childish Gambino, Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, Lorde, and Bruno Mars. Meanwhile, the “Song of the Year” category has Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee feat. Justin Beiber, Jay Z, Bruno Mars, Julia Michaels, and Logic nominated to take home the award.
In terms of the acts with the most nominations, Jay Z managed to score a whopping eight nominations for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap/Sung Performance, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Album, and Best Music Video. Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar follow with six nominations each and Childish Gambino, Khalid, No I.D. and SZA all have five each. The nominees for “Best New Artist” include Alessia Cara, Khalid, No I.D., Lil Uzi Vert, Julia Michaels and SZA.
This year marks the first year since 2004 that the Grammy’s will be held outside of the Los Angeles Staples Center. Red carpet coverage hosted by “Entertainment Tonight” personalities Kevin Frazier and Nancy O’Dell and “ET” correspondent Keltie Knight will kick off the event at 6:30 PM ET before the host takes the stage.
