Kourtney Kardashian is an American television personality, socialite, businesswoman, and model. She first rose to fame in 2007 when she and her family were picked to star in the reality television series Keeping Up with the Kardashians, produced by Ryan Seacrest. Its success led to the creation of spin-offs including Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami and Kourtney and Kim Take New York.
Kourtney Kardashian Net Worth As Of 2018: $35 Million
Most of the 38-year-old celebrity’s wealth comes from Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which she both stars in and executive produces. With Kourtney’s younger sisters, Kim and Khloé Kardashian, she is also involved in the retail and fashion industries. They’ve launched several clothing collections and fragrances and additionally released a book, Kardashian Konfidential, in 2010.
Kourtney also has a massive social media following that has allowed her to cash in through endorsements. In 2017 it was reported that Kourtney makes up to $250,000 per Instagram post through her advertising of beauty products and prescription drugs. I guess having 60.3 million Insta followers pays off in a big way.
Early Years
Kourtney Kardashian was born in Los Angeles, California on April 18, 1979, to parents Robert and Kris. Robert Kardashian was an attorney most known for representing his friend, O.J. Simpson, in Simpson’s 2005 murder trial. She has two younger sisters, Kim and Khloé, and a younger brother, Rob. In 1991, her parents got divorced and her mother married Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn Jenner), a 1976 Summer Olympics decathlon winner in 1991. Through their marriage, Kardashian gained step-brothers Burton “Burt”, Brandon, and Brody; step-sister Casey; and half-sisters Kendall and Kylie.
She attended Marymount High School, a Roman Catholic all-girls school in Los Angeles. Following graduation, she moved to Dallas, Texas, to attend Southern Methodist University for two years. Kourtney then lived in Tucson, Arizona, where she graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts and a minor in Spanish. Her classmates included Nicole Richie and Luke Walton.
2005-2007
Kourtney first became known to reality television audiences in the 2005 series, Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive, on which she earned money for charity. The show followed privileged children of celebrities working on a Colorado cattle ranch. Kourtney began dating Scott Disick in 2006, and they have had three children together, one girl and two boys, throughout their relationship. The couple had been on-again, off-again for many years until they officially split in 2015.
In February 2007, everything changed for the Kardashian/Jenner clan when a sex tape made by Kim K. and former boyfriend Ray J was leaked. The leak was a large contributor to both Kim and her family’s rise to prominence. Later that year, Kourtney, in addition to her mother Kris; her stepfather Bruce (now known as Caitlyn); her siblings Kim, Khloé, and Rob; and half-sisters Kendall and Kylie were asked to star in the reality television series Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
2007-Present
The first episode aired in 2007, and now Keeping Up with the Kardashians is in its 14th season. The show follows the hectic, often entertaining and drama-packed lives of the Kardashian/Jenner family. It gets millions of views per episode and Kourtney both stars in and executive produces it. The series proved successful for E!, the network on which it is broadcast, and lead to several spin-offs for Kourtney, including Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami and Kourtney and Kim Take New York.
In addition to being a mother and reality show personality, Kourtney is a successful entrepreneur. She and her sisters run a chain of clothing stores called Dash. She also co-owns a children’s boutique, Smooch, in Calabasas, California, with her mother, Kris.
