A North Carolina college football player, Najee Ali Baker, had been fatally shot at a party on another campus. He was 21 at the time of his death.
According to a statement from Winston-Salem police, officers responded to a phone call from Wake Forest University involving gunshot. Officials found Baker, who was a walk-on at Winston-Salem State University, at which point he was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.
Police have said that they believe the shooting was an isolated incident. So far, no arrests have been made in the case, but officials from both schools, as well as the Winston-Salem police, are investigating the case.

Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Baker was a 6-foot, 1-inch 240-pound linebacker; he also sat out the 2017 season after transferring from Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts.
