American rapper Fredo Santana died at the age of 27 after suffering from a seizure.
According toTMZ, Santana was reportedly discovered dead on the floor of his residence around 11:30 p.m by his girlfriend, as confirmed by family members. Reportedly, Santana is also survived by an 8-year-old son.
Santana had recently been hospitalized for liver and kidney issues he endured over the past few months. The rapper also recently admitted an addiction to lean, a mixture made from cough syrup, soft drinks and candy, which can cause seizures.
On Instagram, Santana shared the following message:
“Been in here since Friday doctor say a n—a had kidney failure an liver failure I’m getting back to normal sorry to all my fans turbo bandana will not be dropping tomorrow due to my health issues thanks for everyone who prayed for a n—a I wouldn’t wish this on my worse enemy.”
On social media, many other rappers and entertainers who knew Santana in life shared their condolences. Drake shared the following on his Instagram account, with the message, “Rest In Peace Santana.”
In life, Santana was associated with the drill music scene, along with his cousin, Chief Keef. As founder of the label, Savage Squad, Santana was known for his 2013 debut album Trappin’ Ain’t Dead and the 2017 Fredo Kruger 2.
