Susan Braudy, a writer, journalist and former Vice President of East Coast Production at Warner Brothers, has come out to accuse actor Michael Douglas, having worked for him during the height of his career in the 1980’s, of harassment, including exposing himself in front of her.

What is Braudy saying?

According to Today, in an exclusive television interview with NBC News’s Kate Snow, discussed the incident in which Douglas allegedly exposed himself to her:

“He slid down the floor, unbuckled his belt and put his hand inside his trousers and I could see what he was doing. Then he began to sort of began to fondle himself…And I was very scared.”

Allegedly, the incident took place in 1989 during a work meeting at Douglas’ residence. Braudy claims that she originally only shared the incident with close friends, who told her to remain quiet, adding:

“One of my friends said you better not tell people about him. People were frightened for me.”

What is Douglas saying?

Although Douglas denied making a comment with NBC News concerning their coverage of the story, he has made statements concerning the allegations beforehand.

In a statement with Deadline made earlier this month, Douglas gave the following statement:

“I can’t believe that someone would cause someone else pain like this…Maybe she is disgruntled her career didn’t go the way she hoped and she is holding this grudge.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Douglas gave the following statement in an off-the-record conversation:

“This individual is an industry veteran, a senior executive, a published novelist and an established member of the women’s movement — someone with a strong voice now, as well as when she worked at my company more than three decades ago. At no time then did she express or display even the slightest feeling of discomfort working in our environment, or with me personally. That is because at no time, and under no circumstance, did I behave inappropriately toward her.”

“Coarse language or overheard private conversations with my friends that may have troubled her are a far cry from harassment…Suggesting so does a true disservice to those who have actually endured sexual harassment and intimidation.”

Who is Susan Braudy?

A professional journalist, some publications Braudy has worked for include The New York Times, Newsweek, The Atlantic Monthly, The Huffington Post, Vanity Fair and Jezebel.

Over the years, books that Braudy has written include: Between Marriage and Divorce: A Woman’s Diary (1975), Who Killed Sal Mineo? (1982), What the Movies Made Me Do: A Novel (1985), This Crazy Thing Called Love: The Golden World and Fatal Marriage of Ann and Billy Woodward (1992) and Family Circle: The Boudins and the Aristocracy of the Left (2003.)
