Winfrey landed a job in radio while still in high school and began co-anchoring the local evening news at the age of 19, eventually being transferred to the daytime talk show arena. After boosting a third-rated local Chicago talk show to first place, Winfrey launched her own production company and became internationally syndicated. Winfrey is credited with popularizing and revolutionizing the tabloid talk show genre.
Currently, Oprah Winfrey is reportedly considering running for President as a Democrat in the 2020 Presidential Elections.
