Four top-notch vocalists will fight to defend their seats against newcomers each week. The longer they hold their seats, the closer they get to the finish line.

The last singer sitting will win a once-in-a-lifetime chance to take their career further with a panel of music industry specialists behind them and will be named an iHeartMedia “On The Verge” artist.

Diddy told Entertainment Weekly that he was looking to build his own “superteam” with the panel of artists and hosts for the show. He wanted to make the show unique and differentiate it from all of the other singing competition shows on television. He did that by starting the show much later in the process than other shows, meaning that The Four starts with finalists, rather than showing the whole audition process, which is essentially the same on all competition shows.

All four of the panelists are said to have great chemistry together and they each bring their own unique twist to judging.

“This show is going to disrupt the world of competition television and will revolutionize the format,” Diddy said in an interview with Variety.
