Phi Kappa Psi at Bowling Green State University has been suspended until 2020 following a hazing investigation. A letter from BGSU Dean of Students Christopher Bullins announced on Wednesday, December 21, that fraternity Phi Kappa Psi has been suspended through 2020.

According to Bullins’ letter, the fraternity was found to have violated the student code of conduct twice, in incidents involving hazing and discouraging participation in the conduct process. The suspension is in effect starting the spring semester.

The university says the fraternity was found to have violated the student code of conduct twice for hazing and discouraging participation in the conduct process.

“Please know that student safety is our No. 1 priority and we thoroughly investigate all reports of misconduct. BGSU does not tolerate activities that may put our students in harm’s way, impair their academic progress, or are personally degrading. This includes hazing. Not only is hazing forbidden by University policy, it is also against state law,” Bullins said.

Furthermore, the letter indicates that individual students may also be subject to further discipline.

The suspension begins in the spring and Phi Kappa Psi will be eligible for reinstatement in 2020.

That is all the information available at this time.
