If you like to watch college basketball, and if you like to live stream the sport, then Facebook has a good deal for you. The social media platform is paying for the right to stream dozens of games this season, partnering with digital sports broadcaster Stadium in a new deal. In case you were wondering, when we say that Facebook is footing the bill for these games, we do mean that it is free to watch.
Although it has declined to reveal the exact price, Facebook will pay Stadium for the games. For those interested in watching, the live streams will host some smaller, well-respected schools like Saint Mary’s and San Diego States, as well as some power conference schools, like Pittsburgh and Washington State.
Stadium will also have on-air talent that will answer questions and address comments from fans during the live games, presumably using social media. Clearly, social media is the gift that keeps on giving.
Added to that, if you don’t have time to watch these games live, then you can still enjoy the games. After airing live, the games will then be made available to watch through an on-demand service after the broadcasts.
