Happy Veteran’s Day, everyone! Today is a time dedicated to honor the men and women who served in America’s armed forces. One way to honor these many brave soliders is to not pull a Colin Kaepernick during the national anthem. Another way to honor the vets is gaze through COED’s gallery of inspirational photos for Veteran’s Day.
The day dedicated to veterans goes back to November 11, 1919, as “Armistice Day” to celebrate the end of World War I, then known as The Great War or the war to end all wars. Veterans Day also coincides with Remembrance Day, which is celebrated by a Commonwealth of Nations to also commemorate the end of the first World War.
Veteran’s Day was officially recognized as a national holiday in 1938. A year later, the United States entered World War II, and transforming itself into the strongest military power known to man.
