An armed person was reported on the TCU campus this morning, with the university sending out an alert telling staff and students to seek safe shelter immediately. The university told those on campus that there was an armed shooter and to “seek safe shelter immediately.”
Early reports indicate that the gunman is one block north of the Amon G. Carter football stadium.
Fort Worth police say the incident stems from an argument between 2 drivers. Two shuttle bus drivers got into argument near TCU campus; one fired a gun and rammed into the other shuttle.

“Two employees of the Roadrunner Shuttle service that TCU uses got into an argument leading one employee to fire a shot at the other employee. The shooter did not hit the victim but as the shooter was leaving in his shuttle bus he bumped the other employee that he was initially shooting at. That employee and the shuttle bus are still outstanding at this time. A001 and other units are actively looking for this subject right now.”
TCU and Fort Worth police are currently searching for a black male, wearing white shirt, black pants, driving TCU shuttle #24171.
According to TCU360, a student-run Twitter account at TCU, one student reported hearing “repeated gunfire” near Lubbock Avenue.
Texas Christian University is a gun-free campus.
Update (8:43 AM EST): Police have given the “all clear” to the TCU campus. FWPD confirms it was two Roadrunner Shuttle drivers in the encounter, and the suspect and shuttle are still outstanding. If bus seen, call 817-257-7777 or 911.
