A Texas man who reportedly went to Washington, D.C., claiming that he wanted to kill “all white police” at the White House was taken into police custody this Monday.
Maryland police alerted the Secret Service to what was going on
The man, identified as Michael Arega of Dallas, was arrested by the Secret Service, who had been alerted of Arega’s intentions by Montgomery County police in Maryland.
Arega was caught near the White House and arrested without incident Monday afternoon, with pending charges, according to WUSA. He is currently awaiting charges while in custody with the Metropolitan Police Department.
According to his Facebook profile, Arega had made claims such as, “Now i am going to there to white House make sure kill All white POLICE !!,” “I remove the power of darkenes [sic] from USA in the powerful name of Jesus Christ !!” and “Put Him on Jail Donald J Trump in Maighty Name of JESUS CHRRIST !!,” according to Truth Feed News. He also used his Facebook profile to show that he was at the White House on Monday.
Who Was Michael Arega?
According to online records, Arega worked operated a Dallas construction company called Rehoboth Concrete Construction. On his Facebook page, he called himself a quality control inspector at Alpha Testing.
Update: Arega has been charged with making felony threats. He was believed to be unarmed at the time of the attack, according to WUSA.
