Kendall Jenner is celebrating her 22nd birthday by giving to charity. Jenner donated enough money to bring water to 25 wells in Eithopia, reportedly providing water for at least 5,000 people. She wrote a note on the web site of the charity organization, and encouraged her fans and followers to donate money to the cause as well.
“Hey guys! I’m celebrating my 22nd birthday on November 3rd and my wish this year is to help bring clean water to people who need it,” she wrote. “I’d be so grateful to anyone who can support my effort by donating to charity: water through my birthday campaign.”
Jenner encouraged her fans to donate $22 in honor of her 22nd birthday. She also pressed upon the importance of the cause, as her note demonstrates that one out of 10 children around the world go without clean drinking water. The note also explains that an estimated 1,400 children die everyday from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. Because of the scarcity of clean drinking water, some women and girls in developing countries walk for miles to bring back clean water for their loved ones.
“I fell in love with charity: water and am deeply impressed with the organization and the work they do,” she wrote. “I made a donation to fund 25 wells in Ethiopia that will bring clean water to 5,000 people, and I can’t wait to see how many more lives we can change together. 100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects for these communities.”
Kris Jenner and both Kim and Khloe Khardasian also tweeted out their support for the cause to fund wells in Ethiopia and to bring clean drinking water to thousands of people.
As of this writing, Charity: Water has raised well over $33,000.
Kendall Jenner was also seen celebrating her birthday at the taco bar Petite Taqueria in Los Angeles on Thursday night. She was seen with the likes of Blake Griffin, Hailey Baldwin, Caitlyn Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian.
On Friday, she was seen rocking $10,000 YSL glitter boots. These boots are covered in 3,000 rhinestones per shoe.
