The College Football Playoff recently released the names of the four cities where they will be hosting the national championship games from 2021-2024. Earlier this year, the national championship game took place inside the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. But according to the list of future cities to host the game, Tampa won’t be hosting this game until at least 2025.
Where will the College Football Playoff National Championship Game go next?
College Football Playoff Locations 2018-2020
Back in November 2015, the information was released regarding the locations of the upcoming College Football Playoff National Championship games (2018-2020).
This January, the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship game is set to take place inside the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2019, the championship game is scheduled for Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Then in 2020, this annual event is announced to take place inside Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
College Football Playoff Location 2021: Miami Gardens, Florida
The 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship game is scheduled to take place inside the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
This stadium is also set to host Super Bowl LIV in 2020. Previously, the Hard Rock Stadium hosted two World Series (1997 and 2003), four BCS National Championship Games (2001, 2005, 2009, 2013), the second round of the 2009 World Baseball Classic, WrestleMania XXVIII, five Super Bowls (XXIII, XXIX, XXXIII, XLI and XLIV), and the 2010 Pro Bowl.
College Football Playoff Location 2022: Indianapolis, Indiana
The 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship game is scheduled to take place inside the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
This is the first-time in modern history that the championship game will be heading up north.
“We said we were gonna move the championship game around when we started the Playoff,” Bill Hancock, the Playoff’s executive director, told USA TODAY Sports. “We were serious about that and now we’ve done it.”
College Football Playoff Location 2023: Los Angeles, California
The 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship game is scheduled to take place inside the City of Champions Stadium in Los Angeles, California.
This stadium is also scheduled to host the host Super Bowl LVI in February 2022. By 2020, this stadium will by the official home of Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League (NFL).
LA’s City of Champions Stadium was first open to public on November 17, 2016.
College Football Playoff Location 2024: Houston, Texas
The 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship game is scheduled to take place inside the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
This stadium hosted two Super Bowls (XXXVIII and LI), as well as WrestleMania XXV in 2009.
The NRG Stadium is famously known as the home of the Houston Texans.
