The second trailer for the much anticipated new Star Wars movie was released during Game 7 of the World Series. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set to hit theaters on December 15, 2017.
First, the official synopsis for Star Wars: The Last Jedi:
Luke Skywalker’s peaceful and solitary existence gets upended when he meets Rey, a young woman who shows strong signs of the Force.
However, it appears that the director of The Last Jedi is advising fans to avoid trailers if they “want to come in clean” and watch the film not knowing what will happen. Basically, he’s warning fans against the real dangers of a spoiler alert.
Back in 2015, tickets for the film Star Wars: The Force Awakens immediately went on sale after the trailer was revealed during a game between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles. A surge of Star Wars fans bought tickets, as AMC sold out 1,000 screenings across the nation only 12 hours after tickets went on sale.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi, written and directed by Rian Johnson, is the second film in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, following Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The film is produced by Lucasfilm and will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis in returning roles. New cast members include Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran.
The Last Jedi is scheduled for release on December 15, 2017.
