It doesn’t matter if it’s winter or autumn, time moves fast. Before you know it, it’ll be spring break. Just like birds have been doing for years, a lot of college students in the United States want to head south and go right on down to Mexico. In light of recent events like the shootings in Las Vegas and Orlando, people are starting to worry about if traveling to other places for vacation is too dangerous for tourists, especially SB2k18-bound college students.

‘The reality is heartbreaks happen – regardless of location’

As Jeff Jacobsen, President of Student Travel Services, advises in the company’s blog, it is best to remember that it is wrong to make generalizations about a certain area or place. These tragedies happen everywhere and recent events have proven that things can happen way too close to home. Now more than ever, Jacobsen’s company STS Travel is hoping to take the proper precautions for their guests. “As with the United States, Mexico is a very large country,” Jacobsen explains. “There are some bad things happening to good, innocent, unsuspecting people in these countries as well as around the world. The reality is heartbreaks happen – regardless of location.”

“A majority of events in Mexico are occurring thousands of miles away from the tourist destinations,” Jacobsen continues. “Fortunately, to date, these bad things have not directly impacted American tourists at our major resort destinations of Cancun and Cabo San Lucas.”

Jacobsen also offers his condolences to the victims of Vegas and Orlando

STS Travel provides American staff available 24 hours to assist STS travelers. This can include offering directions, answer questions, messages, or other amenities.

“My condolences go out to the families impacted by the recent events in Las Vegas, Orlando and European cities and all who have suffered such an incredible loss,” Jacobsen says.

COED can also vouch for STS, as we’ve partnered with them to host three of our Miss COED finalists (including the winner and two runners-up) in Cancún this year. As we’ve explained, the event will be a time of fun and luxury, as finalists will be “treated like queens, along with their friends who will also get free trips, at the Oasis Cancun Lite–easily the hottest Spring Break destination this year.”

If time is flying by and you’re looking to book your next spring break getaway, you can do it safely and efficiently through STS Travel here.
