Week seven of the 2017 NFL season wraps up as Kirk Cousin and the Washington Redskins (3-2) head to Lincoln Financial Field to take on Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles, the only team in the NFL with one loss.
If the Redskins can pull up the road upset tonight in Philly, the Skins and Birds will be tied in the NFC East with two losses each. With Aaron Rodgers being out for the year and the Falcons looking like a shell of their former selves, the NFC is as wide open as it’s ever been, meaning a win tonight will go a long way towards potential playoff seeding.
The Eagles and the Redskins faced off in the first game of the season in Washington, with the Eagles coming away with a 30-17 victory, marking the Eagles first victory over the Redskins in their last six tries. In that game, Philadelphia was able to shut down Washington’s rushing attack, allowing just 34 yards on 13 carries. As for quarterback Kirk Cousins, he completed just 55% of his passes (22-of-40) for 240 yards and a touchdown, but also taking four sacks and throwing an interception.
If the Skins can pull off the win tonight, the NFC East will be far more interesting heading down the stretch. Otherwise, if the Eagles win, they will be 6-1 and two games ahead of the Redskins and Cowboys, putting them firmly in the driver’s seat for the NFC East as well as the #1 seed in the playoffs.
