Olive View-UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles County, Calif. is on lockdown due to a possible gunman. Police have confirmed that no active shooter.
According to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman, there was a report of a man with a gun at the Olive View-UCLA Medical Center, which is located at 14445 Olive View Dr. in Sylmar, California.
While the LA County Sheriff’s confirmed that were searching for a possible man with a gun, this was not an active shooter situation.
Reports from KTLA indicate that at least two people were detained and then released by police.
A SWAT team later arrived at the medical center in an armored vehicle.
The Olive View-UCLA Medical Center has nearly 400 beds and serves the San Fernando and Antelope valleys. Funded by Los Angeles County, Olive View is one of the primary healthcare delivery systems in the north San Fernando Valley. It is also the closest hospital serving the Antelope Valley after High Desert Hospital was converted to an urgent care clinic in 2003.
