After taking care of business at home by defeating the Minnesota Twins 8-4 in the AL Wildcard Game, Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees (91-71) advanced to take on the best team in the American League, the Cleveland Indians (102-60). The Indians and starting pitcher took Game 1 by a score of 4-0.
C.C. Sabathia (14-5, 3.69 ERA), a former Cy Young winning pitcher for the Indians, gets the start for the Bronx Bombers. For Cleveland, ace Corey Kluber (18-4, 2.25 ERA) will be pitching in Game 2 after Trevor Bauer blanked the Yankees in Game 1. If the Yankees are going to have any shot against Kluber, they are going to need Aaron Judge to have a bounce-back game, as he went 0-4 at the plate during his postseason debut.
According to Cleveland.com, there are chances of rain in the area that could impact the game, with a 30% chance of rain predicted at the time of first pitch at 5:08.
