Depending on how old you are, you might think of Nick Cannon as that child star from All That or his namesake spin-off show, his movie career, his music career, or simply being Mariah Carey’s ex-husband. And, of course, he’s also been the host of America’s Got Talent and the chairman of TeenNick. With Cannon having such a prolific, and rather long, career, you might wonder what his net worth might be, and that’s what we’re here for.

Nick Cannon’s net worth as of 2017: $50 million

Cannon’s net worth is $50 million, according to Bankrate. With a career said to be built up by multitasking, let’s take a look at how Cannon started his fortune at a young age.

The Early Years

At the age of 11, Cannon had his first formal stand-up gig for his father’s cable-access program. It was in 1998 that he first grew closer to becoming a household name, when he joined the children’s sketch comedy show, All That, as a recurring cast member n the fifth season, becoming a main cast member the following season. Eventually, he received his own spin-off, The Nick Cannon Show, which lasted two seasons.

2002-2006

In 2002, Cannon started to branch out to the big screen, with roles in Men in Black, Love Don’t Cost a Thing and Drumline. In 2003, he also started a career in music with a self-titled album, which he co-produced and wrote all the lyrics for. That said, he did not give up his first love in the industry, television, since he went on to host one of MTV’s biggest shows, Nick Cannon Presents Wild ‘N Out in 2005. His starring role in 2006’s Bobby earned him the Breakthrough Actor of the Year at the Cannes Film Festival, making him the first African-American to do so.

2009-2017

In 2009, Cannon became the chairman of TeenNick for Nickelodeon, the network that gave him his big break; the same year also saw him as the host of America’s Got Talent, role his continued in until 2016. 2012 also saw Wild ‘N Out revived, and the show has continued as of this writing, but Cannon is hardly one to be static. Proving himself to be something of a businessman, Cannon has served as Radio Shack’s Chief Creative Officer since 2015, which has released the NCredible1 Wireless Bluetooth Headphones, as well as being a CEO for “Celebrity High” and a partner in “Tiger Beat,”. In 2014, Cannon also started a foray into a whole different kind of writing, releasing a children’s book, “Roc and Roe’s 12 Days of Christmas.”
