Four Different Springfield, Illinois Schools Have Received Bomb Threats

The Springfield School District is responding to bomb threat at 4 schools: Lanphier High School, Franklin Middle School, Southeast High School & Springfield High School. All of the schools have been evacuated.

According to local reporter Matt Loveless, Franklin Middle School has been evacuated to Southside Christian Church, Southeast High School has been brought to Abundant Faith Church, Lanphier HS was evacuated to Caritas Hall, and Springfield HS students were relocated to Westminster Presbyterian.

Fire and police crews have responded to the scenes.

The Springfield School District released an official statement, saying the threats began via phone calls around 8:40 AM. All of the students and staff are safe.

All of the faculty and students are safe and will return to school upon giving the all-clear from police.

District 186 is asking parents to allow students to remain at evacuation sites at this time. They will hold a joint press briefing with Springfield Police Department today at noon local time.
