Andrea Castilla was one of 60 people to be shot dead in the worst shooting in U.S. history. She had recently turned 28-years-old and went to the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas for a birthday weekend. She did not make it out of the concert alive as a gunman opened fire on a sea of fans, killing dozens of people and putting over 500 people in the hospital.

The shooting occurred on Sunday at around 10 P.M. when suspected mass shooter 64-year-old Stephan Paddock opened fire from his room on the 32nd floor of a Mandalay Bay hotel, across the street from the concert. He fired down upon the crowd below, causing 60 deaths and 526 injuries. Authorities are still investigating the motive in the shooting, and are still clueless as to why someone who commit such a horrific act.
“Andrea my beloved sister, I can’t even close my eyes without picturing the joy you brought to me and this world,” Adam Castilla wrote on Facebook. “Never have I had something so precious ripped from my life. I am completely shattered.”
Castilla was employed as a makeup artist at Sephora in California. Her Facebook page also says that she worked as a dental assistant in 2012.
The 28-year-old was reportedly out in Las Vegas to visit her sister. According to her GoFundMe page, both sisters were described as holding hands and dancing during the concert. When the gunman opened fire upon the crowd, Andrea was struck in the head by a bullet.
“My sister was really happy. She was living her life and had so many dreams and aspirations,” Adam Castilla told the Washington Post. “She didn’t have one bad bone in her body. Every time I saw her she managed to make everything good.”

Andrea Castilla was born on September 29, 1989. According to her Facebook page, the 28-year-old studied at Cypress College. She’s also a Class of 2007 graduate of Estancia High School in Costa Mesa, California.
According to her page, she was originally from Fountain Valley, California. However, she had Orange, California, listed as where she lived.
