Richard Dalcourt, a 19-year-old freshman at Temple University, has died after he fell six floors from a residence hall window on Tuesday, October 3.
Dalcourt, 19, was pronounced dead after he was rushed to Hahnemann Hospital on Tuesday morning in Philadelphia. According to a statement from Temple University president Richard Enlgert, Dalcourt fell from a sixth-floor window around 10:30 AM near Liacouras Walk. The cause of Dalcourt’s death is pending an investigation by police and the coroner’s office.
Dalcourt, who was in his first year at Temple University, graduated from West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North, in Plainsboro in June.
There is no word at this time as to what caused Dalcourt to fall. Similarly, there is no word if police suspect foul play to be involved.
Temple University said they are providing counseling for students at the Tuttleman Counseling Services building at 1700 North Broad Street.
Dalcourt, a Plainsboro, New Jersey native known as “Rick” to family and friends, was the son of Kathy and Al Dalcourt. He was majoring in mechanical engineering at the school’s College of Engineering.
