Police are responding to a report of a shooting at the University of Southern California on Monday, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Shots have been reported but were not confirmed by the LAPD. Los Angeles police said there’s no evidence of an active shooter at this time. Police got reports of gunshots at 12:17 PM and are searching Fertitta Hall.

Officers are responding to the 3500 block of University Plaza, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Irma Mota told KTLA around 12:30 PM. The location is in the Exposition Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles.

A shelter in place order has been issued due to the police activity at Fertitta Hall at 610 Childs Way. After a “systematic search” and investigation, Los Angeles authorities have concluded that there was no shooting on campus and that the community is safe.

While the lockdown has been lifted on parts of the campus, officials are still asking people to avoid the Fertitta Hall area while the investigation is underway.

There are no injuries or fatalities.
