Jason Aldean, Who Was Performing During The Las Vegas Shooting, Reacts To The Tragedy

Jason Aldean was performing on stage at the Route 91 country music festival when tragedy struck, as terrorist Stephen Paddock open fired on a group of Las Vegas concert-goers, injuring over 500 and killing over 50.

Aldean, who was the final performance of the weekend-long country music festival, was on stage at the moment 64-year-old Paddock began to open fire at the crowd of 22,000. Killing over 50 and injuring over 500, is the deadliest shooting in United States history.

After the tragic events unfolded, Aldean posted on Instagram to join the nation in mourning:

“Tonight has been beyond horrific. I still don’t know what to say but wanted to let everyone know that me and my crew are safe. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved tonight. It hurts my heart that this would happen to anyone who was just coming out to enjoy what should have been a fun night.”

According to reports, police responded to the scene Sunday night and breached the door to the suspect’s room on the 32nd floor, where they found “numerous firearms”, including rifles. Las Vegas Police Undersheriff Kevin McMahill said there were at least 8 guns and a number of long rifles in the alleged shooter’s room.

Paddock opened fire on a crowd of more than 22,000 concert-goers from his hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel on Sunday evening at approximately 10:08 p.m. The victims were across the street attending the Route 91 Harvest Festival concert when bullets rang out. LVMPD SWAT responded to the call, breached the hotel room and found the suspect dead.
