Julia Louis-Dreyfus still manages to look absolutely stunning at 56-years-old. But today, the internet wasn’t focusing on Dreyfus’ beauty. Instead, the world wide web was buzzing when Julia took to Twitter on Thursday to announce that she has breast cancer.
“1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I’m the one,” Louis-Dreyfus, 56, wrote. “The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends. The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let’s fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality.”
Dreyfus reportedly found out that she has breast cancer a day after winning her sixth consecutive Emmy award, according to a HBO rep.
Veep is scheduled to air its seventh and final season in 2008. Julia Louis-Dreyfus has won a record-breaking six consecutive Emmy Awards for her role as former President Selina Meyer. Throughout her career, Dreyfus has won a total of eleven Emmy awards, seven Screen Actors Guild Awards, five American Comedy Awards, and two Critics’ Choice Television Awards, and one Golden Globe.
