NCIS will return tonight right where the series left off…kinda. Season 15 will kick off from last season’s cliff-hanger and then jump ahead two months later. Gibbs and McGee were captured by Paraguayan forces and spent two long months as prisoners. By the time they return stateside, the duo is already damaged goods.
Showrunner George Schenck teased that, “There’ll be lasting effects. What happens down there will change them.”
It’ll be difficult for the duo to adjust from life inside a Paraguayan prison back to their “normal lives.” They’ll be quite a bit of psychological strain involved. “True to form, they have to go through a debriefing and all of that, which includes a psychological evaluation if they’re ready to go back to work,” Schenck added. “So there’s that process in the first few episodes of them getting back to work.”
