The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office have identified a man they believe brutally beat a two-year-old girl and left her with life-threatening injuries. On Thursday, the victim was found outside a Denver elementary school.
Deputies are now claiming that Joshua James Gonazales, 21, is the culprit behind this child abuse case. Authorities believe that he beat, kicked and threw the little girl sometime on Monday. However, the incident remained unreported until Thursday when a citizen spotted the child outside Doull Elementary School in Denver.
Officers say that the young girl was with her mother at the school when another person noticed the girl’s injuries and grew concerned. That person called 911 and the injured girl was rushed to Denver Health Hospital with life threatening injures.
According to doctors, the young girl suffered a lacerated liver and suffered severe head trauma. Despite her injuries, the child is likely to survive.
The prime suspect of this crime is Joshua James Gonzales. He is wanted for is wanted is for child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury, a class 3 felony.
The suspect is a Hispanic male, 5’7”, 200 lbs, with black shoulder length hair, and a “W” and “S” tattooed on both arms. His relationship to the victim is unknown.
