ESPN has released a statement regarding SportsCenter anchor Jemele Hill’s tweets regarding President Donald Trump.
In a brief statement, ESPN said that the “comments on Twitter from Jemele Hill regarding the President do not represent the position of ESPN” and that they “addressed this with Jemele and she recognizes her actions were inappropriate.”
Hill is an American sports journalist who previously wrote a column for ESPN.com’s Page 2 and hosted ESPN’s His and Hers. In June 2013, she succeeded Jalen Rose on ESPN2’s Numbers Never Lie. On February 6, 2017, Hill and Michael Smith became the hosts of ESPN’s flagship SportsCenter.

On September 11, 2017 Hill tweeted describing President Donald Trump as a white supremacist. Later in the day ESPN issued a statement: “The comments on Twitter from Jemele Hill regarding the President do not represent the position of ESPN.”
