Esports Now is back with a special update about Super Mario, and it appears that the famed Nintendo Icon has lost his job. Plus, Oomba has updates about the nerfs to basic cards in the Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft game. But back to Mario. What do you mean he lost his job? Does this mean he’ll be out of video games for good?
What do you mean Mario lost his job?
To clear things up: the Super Mario series has not been cancelled. Mario has just changed his vocation. According to Nintendo Japan, Mario will no longer be employed as a plumber going forward. The gaming public hasn’t been informed why Mario is no longer a plumber. We don’t know if he fouled up and lost his job that way. Maybe he retired, maybe he was fired, or maybe there’s no need for plumbers in Super Mario World. Seriously, have you ever seen anyone from this world using the toilet? Either way, Mario is unemployed and looking for adventure. Thanks, Obama!
Oh wait, it’s 2017, which means…
Super Mario Odyssey is set to hit shelves for the Nintendo Switch on October 27, 2017.
Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft Card Updates
This past week, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft gave large nerfs/updates to some pretty key cards. But many players (warriors and druids) of the game weren’t satisfied with this sudden change. For example: the Fiery War Axe is getting a cost raise from two Mana to three. This increases the damage done by this card. The text of the card has not been changed to reduce costs and not be seen as disruptive, but the number has been upgraded and the potential damage that this card can inflict has been increased. Many Hearthstone players found this change to be insulting and took to Reddit to talk smack about this sudden shift.
The long-standing basic card Innervate has changed as well. This time, the card has went down in value. Instead of giving the player 2 Mana crystals, you’re only allowed one this time. That hurts a lot of benefits relating to the ramp power of Druid.
Quinn with Oomba TV suggested that this sudden change may have killed off the power Druid for good. As a result, we’re treated to a short tribute video of people playing Hearthstone and images of a sad bear with the song “How To Save A Life” by The Fray playing in the background.
