October is upon us and it’s bringing a whole bunch of movies to our movie theater screens. Plus, with Halloween at the end of the month you can bet that there are some good horror films coming out this month! But in case horror isn’t the vibe you’re after there’s plenty here to see at the theaters this month!

Doesn’t matter if you’re looking for a sci-fi action movie or a good Halloween spook-fest, there’s something coming out this month for everybody.

1. Blade Runner 2049

Staring: Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas, Robin Wright, Jared Leto, Sylvia Hoeks

Release Date: October 6th, 2017

Thirty-five years have passed since 1982’s sci-fi masterpiece Blade Runner premiered and now in 2017 the cult classic gets a sequel with Blade Runner 2049. Set thirty years after the original, this sequel follows a new Blade Runner (Gosling) as he uncovers a secret that could end humanity as well as leading him to Rick Deckard (Ford), who has been missing all this time.


2. Happy Death Day

Staring: Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard, Ruby Modine, Rachel Matthews
Directed By: Christopher B. Landon
Release Date: October 13th, 2017

We’ve seen the “Groundhog’s Day” style done in many other movies, but this is the first time it’s being used in a serial killer movie. Follow Tree Gelbman as she relives the same day over and over again trying to solve the mystery of who is murdering her at the end of the day. Also, it just happens to be her birthday… so whoever is behind it is a total jerk!


3. The Snowman

Staring: Michael Fassbender, Rebecca Ferguson, Charlotte Gainsbourg, J.K. Simmons, Chloe Sevigny
Directed By: Tomas Alfredson
Release Date: October 20th, 2017

Based on the best-selling novel by Jo Nesbø, this crime thriller follows a detective (Fassbender) as he follows the clues to solve the murders of many women by the hands of “The Snowman”. Helped by a new recruit (Ferguson) they head down the rabbit hole in search of the Snowman.


4. Jigsaw

Staring: Tobin Bell, Laura Vandervoort, Mandela Van Peebles, Brittany Allen, Clé Bennett
Directed By: The Spierig Brothers
Release Date: October 27th, 2017

The Saw franchise returns this Halloween for the newest installment, Jigsaw! Taking place a decade after 2010’s Saw 3D, this new film will show the rise of a new killer that fits the M.O. of the original Jigsaw. Expect many death traps and lots of blood in this one!


5. Suburbicon

Staring:  Matt Damon, Julianne Moore, Oscar Issac, Noah Jupe
Directed By: George Clooney
Release Date: October 27th, 2017

George Clooney takes full control behind the scenes as he directs, produces, and writes this dark comedy about an ideal community that hides a violent underbelly. Following Gardner Lodge (Damon), the film will follow his pursuit of revenge as he is betrayed from within the community.
